Scanning Devices iConnection Applications
NEW! Utility Applications for iConnection and iButton read and write specific iButton types. The first available are for the DS1992 iButtons, DS1993 iButtons and DS1994 iButtons (each utility application is dedicated to one iButton type.)
All Scanning Devices iConnection Applications consist of four components:
- Palm Component - a complete Palm OS Application with user interface and database support. The Palm OS Application presents a user screen that looks like a spreadsheet; each iButton page is assigned to a table entry (cell). Data can be stored in a Palm database, accessed from the Palm screen, edited and written to iButtons.
- Conduit - an application extension which transfers data between Palm and PC during a Hot-Sync operation.
- PC Component (to complement the Palm OS Application) - The PC component takes advantage of the relatively large PC screen, keyboard and disk storage space. The PC programs may set up Palm data for transfer to Palm or analyse and store data collected by Palm and returned to PC during a Hot-Sync. PC file format is comma-separated-variables (.csv), so iButton files can be opened and viewed with a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Once your data is in a spreadsheet, you have many options on how to process and save it.
- An install program to set up the other components automatically.
Each component operates independently. Users may choose to use only the components necessary to support their requirements.
