- Build authorization lists on your PC.

- Compare card information with authorization lists to validate and display for event admission, service delivery, member attendance, or access. Authorize at the decision point in real time.
- Log date, time, authorization result, and card information in your Palm Handheld database.
- Hot-Sync the information to your PC for processing or a permanent event record.
Get Ready to Authorize
- Setup your Palm Handheld
- Select level of authorization:
- Admit All
- Admit only if found on authorized list
- Admit only once
- Specify card data format
- Locate the authorization key, the specific information on the magnetic stripe card to be used for authorization.
- Read a sample card and your selected authorization key will be displayed and highlighted to provide visual verification.
- Save Setup Results.
- Select level of authorization:
- Build your authorization list on PC using Microsoft Excel or a similar data generator.
- Hot-Sync your Palm.
- Clip on the Scanning Devices 2500 Series MagStripe Reader and you are ready to read cards.
Read Cards, Authorize, Collect Attendance Information
- Tap on the Palm Screen and swipe a card through the reader.
- MagStripe Authorize reads the card, locates the cardholder's key authorization data, looks through the authorization list and (optionally with your selection) the already admitted list.
- If the card holder is authorized and not already admitted, display a Green Go Sign on the Palm Screen. Then add the date and time, authorization result and card information to the admitted list.
- But if the cardholder is not authorized or is already authorized, display a Red Stop sign on the Palm screen. Add the transaction to the admitted list, noting that on this reading, authorization was denied.
- Tap on the Palm screen to acknowledge the authorization result and get ready for the next card.
When you are done
- Hot-Sync your Palm after the event and you have an attendance list with one entry for every card read.
