Scanning Devices introduces Bluetooth enabled Smart Remote Display Systems.

Wireless Systems consist of

• One base station - a Bluetooth enabled display linked to your data source by either RS232 or 20 milliamp current loop connection. The base station learns transmission charactistics, receives data from your source, constructs messages, manages the Bluetooth Network and transmits messages wirelessly to remote displays.
• Up to 7 remote displays - any Scanning Devices Smart Remote Display, linked to the base station by Bluetooth wireless communications.

Wireless Remote Displays
At the Base Station: Local Display receives data from the source, displays it on its LED display and transmits via Bluetooth Wireless to remotes.

At each remote station: The Wireless Smart Remote Display receives messages from the base station via Bluetooth wireless transmission and displays data messages. Any Scanning Devices Smart Remote Display can be Bluetooth enabled, serving as a remote station. And installation is as easy as plugging it in!.

Bluetooth radio module and antenna are internal and integrated with both the base station and remote displays -- no antenna, connections or wiring!

Radio module is Bluetooth Power Class 2, specified range is 10 meters. Range measurements have been obtained with our own measuring methods and may vary with installation conditions. Contact Scanning Devices for configuration assistance, pricing and availability.

The Base Station includes Scanning Devices' Patented Learn Feature. Attach the base station to your data source and push the learn button. The Smart Remote Display automatically determines data source transmission characteristics, line speed and data format, and sets itself up to receive from the source. It receives data from the source and constructs messages, displaying them on its red LED numeric display.

Remote installation is even easier. No connection or buttons to push at all. Just plug it in!. The base station regularly scans for remotes and when it finds a new one, automatically connects and begins transmitting data messages for display.

Did you ever have to move a display? Just unplug it, move it, plug it in. Done! The Base Station finds it, connects and transmits.

On power-up, Learn settings and wireless characteristics are retrieved from non-volatile memory and used in starting up wireless communications without intervention.
